Will I ever get tired of illustrating fruit? Not any time soon. An orangey pink and blue spread of papaya, clementines, dainty flowers, coupe glasses and a bottle of wine.
It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since I started the Put Out a Spread food illustration series. This is the ninth in the series and I’ve played around with highly styled layouts and flatlays to snapshots of dinner scenes with family and friends. But one of the pleasant surprises of this project has been capturing moments in time in my memory. So much about drawing and painting is slowing down and focusing on the task at hand. With each illustration I remember so much more about everything put down to paper and what’s not included on the page.
